Wednesday: Reflecting on the World Parkinson Congress Last month, members of the global Dance for PD community traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to participate in the 7th World Parkinson
Congress (WPC), a global gathering of people living with Parkinson's, care partners, researchers, clinicians, and advocates. We invite you to join us at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn or online this Wednesday, June 10 from 3:45-4:30 PM for a special conversation as we reflect on our experiences, share highlights and insights from the Congress, and discuss how the ideas, connections, and
inspiration from this international event can strengthen our community and inform our work moving forward. Whether you attended the WPC or are simply curious to learn more, all are welcome. Joining online? This conversation will take place immediately following our regularly scheduled hybrid Dance for PD class. If you are attending class online, simply remain connected after class concludes to
participate in the discussion. If you are joining only for the conversation, please register and join us at the start of the discussion; you will be automatically admitted to the Zoom meeting.
Sunday / El domingo: Design in Motion / Diseño en Movimiento
How can design inspire movement? Join us at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum on Sunday, June 14 from 11 AM-1 PM for a free bilingual (Spanish/English) program inspired
by Art of Noise, an exhibit that explores how design—from album art and graphic identity to listening technologies and immersive environments—shapes the way we experience music and sound. Participants will begin with a
guided exploration of the exhibition, discovering how music, listening, and album cover design shape our experiences of sound and visual culture. Following the tour, Julie Worden will lead an inclusive dance class designed to engage older adults of all abilities through music, movement, and creative exploration inspired by themes from the exhibition. All are welcome to stay and enjoy the Museum at your own pace after the class. Space is limited and advanced registration is required; click here to learn more and reserve your spot!
