A new format for PD Movement Lab

This year, PD Movement Lab is debuting an exciting new alternating format for our Zoom participants. You’ll move between a four-week On Demand course, filmed exclusively by founder Pam Quinn, and a four-week live mini-series led by affiliated teaching artists. Together, these tracks offer both practical insights for daily life and the chance to connect with our vibrant teaching community. Learn more below.

While we do not vet each project, we do require that all listed opportunities have IRB approval, ensuring ethical and non-injurious study designs. *PD Movement Lab has a fresh new format for our Zoom community: two alternating tracks designed to keep your practice both grounded and inspiring.

Every other month, you’ll experience a four-week On Demand series—filmed exclusively for online learning by PD Movement Lab founder Pam Quinn—followed by a four-week live/hybrid mini-series led by our PD Movement Lab trained instructors.

The on-demand series is tailored for at home use to maximize movement within a confined space, features a wider variety of music to test your ability to move to different sounds, and the freedom to revisit the class throughout the year. The live mini-series then offers you the chance to connect in real time, expand your movement vocabulary, and enjoy the creative voices of our broader teaching community.

Dance on your own schedule with our digital class library featuring classes from our Brooklyn flagship presented in a convenient, accessible format to people around the world. Classes are organized by genre - with a free sample class offered in each style. The Dance for PD channel is organized by teacher.

Looking for an older class? Many genres and teachers have a "Showcase" at the end of the carousel - this showcase includes ALL related recordings in the library.

Our Members' Digital Class Library, with more than 400 selections at your fingertips, now features a different On Demand class each week. Just log in with your member credentials, visit the On Demand portal, and find the Featured Class channel to revisit a gem from our archives.

Dance by Phone

Dance for PD’s Dance by Phone initiative invites people without internet access or digital technology to benefit from the experience of a dance class wherever they are and whenever they want a movement session, just by dialing a number on a telephone.

The system is easy to use and toll-free within North America. To access this resource, call 1-800-957-1046.

When prompted, you may select the activity you’d like to do by entering an extension number from the menu:
